So I guess it doesn't feel like the 4th of July unless it is really hot out. Except this year it was SCORCHING! We got close to 105 degrees and about 50% humidity. Only having about 4 hours of sleep after the concert, David and I got up to run the annual Run For Freedom. Boy was that not the smartest idea...we were dead tired and it was so hot it was hard to breathe. Lets just say we have had better results.....we did really bad. Terrible actually. It was still fun to see everyone and get ready for the rest of the day.
After the race, David went home and my mom and I got ready for the parade. We had a huge float with the playhouse Grandpa Wren built to raise money for our Relay for Life team. The heat made it hard to walk for a while, especially for my mom. Afterwards we had to find a cool place to go because she was on the verge of heat exhaustion and passing out. After the parade, for Anthony's birthday, we went to Emily's. It is this cute little restaurant, our favorite place to go get breakfast! Before you know it, he was gone for the day going out with friends and celebrating. One of our close family friends that my dad went to grade school and high school with own a beautiful lake house right off of Lake Michigan. It makes me want one so bad with my husband someday- talk about relaxing!! We had a cook out and enjoyed the lake, each others company and watching the fireworks over the lake :)
