For those of you who know Anthony, you know that besides his love for baseball, motocross comes in a close first. He has been riding for years now, he has friends that race and that have tracks in their yards that he rides at. I never understood why he liked that stuff. To me it just seemed so dangerous, specially when Ant crashed last year. It didn't sit well for me. I'm not saying I don't trust him, he is excellent at riding but accidents happen. He is my only brother, he means the world to me. I cant help but worry. But we support him anyways because its something he LOVES and he is a smart kid, he doesn't do stupid stuff that could hurt him. Every year on 4th of July weekend, motocross has their nationals in Buchanan, Michigan. Last year for Anthony's "sweet 16" my parents let him go to Michigan to watch Redbud. He was in HEAVEN. This year the whole family decided to join him. The drive wasn't bad at all only about 3 hours. It's right on the border of Michigan and Indiana. We got up at 5 AM and headed to Redbud! Once we got there we all started laughing because it is seriously in the middle of nowhere. You thought Wisconsin was bad... go to Buchanan. It was so funny to see how Ant's eys lit up as we pulled into the parking lot. This is the highlight of the year for him. We got out of the car and about died. It was seriously one of the hottest days of my life. The news said it got to 101 degrees with 97% humidity. Can you imagine standing/sitting/running allllll day watching races in that heat with basically no shade and only a little breeze? Yeah, not fun. BUT I have to say it was all worth it. It is amazing what these people can do on a bike. The youngest pro (male) rider was 17 from Germany, and the oldest was in their early 30s. So the age range was pretty big. Ant and his friends all got pit passes and were able to get autographs and the whole sha-bang. My favorite was the girls race. The girl who got first by a mile was Ashley Fiolek. She is a two time champion and is just simply amazing, click here to learn why :) She is such inspiration to me. And click here to see her latest commercial. She dominated her race, it was awesome to watch her. So we all walked away that day burned as red as a lobster but had such a wonderful time. They had little kid races at night and then some fireworks later on. I have a feeling this little trip might become a new family tradition. :) Now onto another wonderful day tomorrow! One of my favorite holidays and Anthony's birthday!
